“Need more friends with wings. All the angels I know put concrete in my veins. I'd always walk home alone. So, I became lifeless just like my telephone. There's nothing to lose. When no one knows your name. There's nothing to gain. But the days don't seem to change...”

The song was softer than the songs the guys of Black Magic had normally put out but it had its moments. The high nasally voice of the lead singer suited the soft sad notes of the song. Aiba Masaki sighed tapping his fingers against his knee as he listened to the song his eyes closing. Black Magic had been the Indy Rock Band of the early 2000’s and Masaki had been obsessed with them, they had been the one band that had had obsessively played when he had felt like he was going privately crazy when his parents were arguing or his brother was crying about being bullied.

His life had been a mess but he had found Black Magic from a friend of a friend and had bought all three of their albums. He had been too young to go to a concert but he had a fanvideo and he imagined himself in the crowd and he had promised himself that when he was older. Of course when he was older had never come, Black Magic had disbanded with no possibility of getting back together, not even if it could cure cancer the lead vocalist had sneered in the interview he had found on the internet. It wasn’t a video interview the band never did those but Masaki could imagine the twisted look that would have been in his face.

The name of his station flashed on the board in front of him and he stood up lifting his green canvas bag that held all of his worldly possessions. He slung it over his shoulder and waited for the doors to open. He had finally graduated school and had taken the first job that was offered to him away from his parents. If his brother had still been there he would have stayed but he had moved in with their grandparents last year when his mother had announced he couldn’t deal with his moods any more so here he was ready to make his name in the big city. Switching off his music as the door opened, he was almost nervous as the doors slid open and he saw just how many people were lined up waiting to get on the train he was leaving. There had to be hundreds of them, more than he had ever seen in the small village he had grown up in.

Almost all were wearing black, blue, or dark grey business attire and all looked tired and irritated. Brushings his fingers through his long-bleached hair he stepped off the train and tried not to feel awkward about his dusty travel worn clothes and almost knee-high biker boots that were so old and worn they were barely being held together. Getting away from the lines of people he looked around for the man he was meant to be meeting. Ohno Satoshi. The man was an old school friend of his dads or something, he owned a bar in town and was looking for a trainee chef that could help wait tables.
“Yo, you Aiba-kun?” A sharp nasally voice growled and Masaki jerked his neck in the direction of the voice positive that it was familiar but he had no reason as to why that would be as he knew nobody in the city and this man looked nothing like the man he had seen on the bar’s website.

This man was dressed almost as badly as Masaki was in skinny jeans with a vest that seemed so stretched out at the neck, he was positive that if he moved, he would see his nipples. There was a short sleeve shirt over the top of it but it was open. A studded belt was around his waist and he too was wearing boots. His hair was a mess and there was a scarf around his neck hiding, only a little, bite marks that made Masaki blush to look at. Most of his face was hidden by sunglasses but what he could see his skin was pale and there would be dark bags under his eyes which would be blood shot. He was wearing a simple silver ring around his finger and one ear was full of piercings.

Even though this man was dressed more like him it made Masaki more nervous as though he was a poser and this man was the real deal. “Aye, you planning on answering? You Aiba or not?”

“Um, yeah, I’m Aiba Masaki...Are you Ohno...” He asked knowing that it wasn’t. Ohno Satoshi was about the same height as this man he was more muscular and was tanned from fishing.

“No, I’m Nino, I was asked if I could come and give you a lift. The old man doesn’t drive, come on” The man, Nino, turned sharply on his heel making the leather heel of his boots squeal loudly before he marched away. He would have vanished into the crowd if people didn’t seem to want to avoid him and shifted out of his way as he walked. Masaki chewed on his lip before doing the dumbest thing of his life and following him out of the station. A taxi was waiting at the side of the road with Nino waiting at the boot area to throw in his bag. “Get in”

“Um...I... are you sure you’re a friend of Ohno-san?”

“Kid, you’re bigger than I am, trust me if I were gonna try anything you could snap me like a twig. You’re going to Arashi right? You’re the new trainee chef the Old man hired, your dad was in the old man’s class at school or something. I gotta get moving or I’m gonna get a ticket and I doubt you can afford to pay it” Nino growled slipping into the front driver’s seat and switching the taxi on. The back door opened and taking a breath Masaki slipped inside.

The car was clean with the identification of the driver stuck into the corner of the partition that was up preventing him from even trying to talk to Nino, not that he imagined Nino would be up for talking as he had switched on the radio and was listening to a baseball game, something that Masaki wouldn’t have imagined from the way he was dressed. He shrugged however and switched his music back on hoping he had done the right thing. Black Magic’s song started up again and he closed his eyes letting the loud angry music wash over him;

“Never played truth or dare. I'd have to check my mirror to see if I'm still here. My parents had no clue. That I ate all my lunches alone in the bathroom. There's nothing to lose. When no one knows your name. There's nothing to gain. But the days don't seem to change. There's nothing to lose. My notebook will explain. There's nothing to gain. And I can't fight the pain. Teachers said it's just a phase. When I grow up my children will probably do the same. Kids just love to tease. Who'd know it put me underground at seventeen…”

A/N: So another attempt at writing Arashi. I will sit and explain soon I promise but I have spoken to my lovely friends, Mala and Marion and they encouraged me to write this <3

The songs used in this will be by My all time Favourite modern Rock band Billy Talent, I make no claims to the songs I just love them so much and yeah I think the guys of the band are the sweetest, nicest people you could ever hope to meet for all that they kick ass on stage (and look terrifying xD) I feel happy and privileged that I have gotten to meet them twice and spent time with them after their shows in Nottingham.
This song was Nothing to Lose <3
