The rainbow unicorns were beautiful. They weren’t multicoloured but had a translucent sheen that shone a range of colours. Each one seemed to have a main colour though and the one that was nearest to Nino was a soft yellow in colour for the most part. Their horns however were rainbow coloured and Nino was genuinely surprised when they all came towards him. He was used to being completely ignored by them. He wasn’t completely sure why he was here when Harry had told him that he and Sho could go to the dragons, but Luna had all but dragged him and Sho with her and since the baby hadn’t let go of Sho since he arrived, they hadn’t had much choice but to follow.

“Unlike our native unicorns they haven’t had much contact with humans, so they are not as timid…” Luna said bringing her hand up to stroke the unicorn’s ear. Nino’s hand reached up and the unicorn came and brushed against him nibbling at the sleeve of his shirt. “Of course, they are still very aware of the nature of humans and they will only come to those with a gentle-natures…This one seems to really like you, see…I always knew that you had a gentle heart…”

“I always thought so too” Sho whispered as Lorcan giggled reaching out to one of the unicorn foals. The little unicorn skipped and danced around them, and Nino flushed brightly at Sho’s words. Luna on the other hand gave a dreamy little smile and then started to talk to Harry about the unicorns and where they were from.

“They are from the amazon. Sadly, their habitat is being slowly taken away from them and they are meeting more and more humans…Muggles” Luna hummed with her nose wrinkling and Nino was genuinely surprised when Harry shared her look. It wasn’t the same look his parents had, disgust and hatred but it was a look that said quite clearly he thought that muggles and magical should be kept apart. “Because they don’t normally come into contact with humans the young ones are naturally inquisitive...This herd is one of the few that we found...”

“Are you hoping to release them into the forbidden forest?”

“It wouldn’t be suitable for them, it would be better if we introduced a forest...You can do it Harry” Luna enthused and Harry let out a dry laugh shaking his head as he said happily;

“It would be Dray and Theo that did the charms and Herm’ but I think they would be agreeable...Neville would have to do the plants. But they are beautiful...And that one really likes you...” Harry let out a loud laugh as the yellowish Unicorn that Nino had been petting was really rubbing himself against him now, like a cat trying to get his scent and Nino flushed as everybody turned to look at him. “You have a way with animals, the snakes like you too...Sure you don’t want to work here full time? Don’t want to waste your life on potions...”

“I like potions but I am happy to work here too...” Nino mumbled through his embarrassment as the unicorn pushed him in the back and caused him to stumble. He could tell that it was trying its best not to hurt him however and Nino didn’t mind so much. The light shimmered on the unicorns and the yellow made him think of his grandfather’s favourite jumper. It was an old mustard colour he said that it was his lucky jumper when he had died Nino had worn it around the house until his mother and father had took it off of him and set fire to it with a spell. “Ne...Can I name this unicorn?”

“Of course, I think he would rather like that” Luna answered as Harry gave a nod and Nino turned to look the unicorn in the eye and smiled saying;

“I will call you Kazuya...After my grandpa...He liked the colour yellow...”

“A good name, I think he rather likes it...Your grandpa does, very much so....” Luna hummed in a faraway voice her eyes looking over his shoulder as though she was seeing something that nobody else could see. She did it a lot, Nino knew that. Although Hogwarts had its ghosts none of those in the battle of Hogwarts had lingered on in spirit form but Nino knew that Luna had claimed to see some of them. She had helped George Weasley mourn the loss of his twin by talking to him on the other side and assuring him that he was happy and pulling pranks with his uncles. Nino swallowed and looked over his shoulder until Harry cleared his throat and pulled the conversation around to more happy things.

“Okay, I’ll take you to Charlie and he will get you looking at the dragons” He said cheerfully clapping his hands together and shooing the unicorns into what was going to be their temporary home. Kazuya was reluctant to go at first but eventually he followed his herd. “I think he fancies you...”

“Quite possibly, Nino has the spirit of a unicorn, gentle, timid but strong under pressure...” Luna beamed reaching out and taking her son from Sho’s arms. The boy cried at first but Luna soon soothed him saying “Come on my little moonbeam, I think it’s time we were finding papa and heading home...”

“Mama” The boy babbled through a mouthful of drool burying his face into a thin golden hair. Luna didn’t seem to notice and wandered off quickly singing a strange song about pixies as she left without a goodbye.

“She is a special girl” Harry chuckled as he caught their expressions and Sho nodded slowly before flushing “But one of the best friends a person can ask for...Come on, Charlie will be wondering where you’ve got to...And I am sure you have other places you want to go on your date...”

“...Yeah...But...This is amazing...I never realised it was so big...The wards alone must have been incredible...”

“It has taken a long time, without Dray and Herm’ it wouldn’t have been possible. Lucky for me I know two book worms and Nev’...Professor Longbottom is amazing with plants...” Harry hummed as he led them down a winding path to another door. It was opened and they were ushered through and both teens gasped as they seemed to find themselves in a mountain range. It was as dizzying as finding themselves in the middle of the desert in winter and when the wind howled Nino jumped closer to Sho. “I love magic, I’ve always loved it...Don’t you? All of it is so amazing...Okay, stay close to me and when we reach Charlie I want you to do everything he says, okay?”

“Yeah...Okay...”
