Origin of Love part 4

After finishing the drink, he found that the bar had emptied out a little and he was able to make his way to the bar and hand the glass over to the keeper. The man gave him something resembling a smile and Satoshi awkwardly returned it before heading back down to the entrance area for the show. An usher checked his ticket and then, using an unlit torch, directed him down towards his seat. There was a low murmur all around him which seemed to be crackling with their excitement and Satoshi was almost embarrassed to find that the chair beside him was the only one empty.

He made himself as comfortable as possible clutching his programme in his hands wondering if he could flip through it before the performance started but eventually thought against it and pulled out his phone sighing just a little when he saw that he had two missed calls from his wife, four from his daughter along with a text message that read;

“Dad? What’s going on? Mum’s been on the phone, please ring me”

Satoshi immediately switched it back off again and slipped it into the depths of his pocket as the whispers faded out as the lights dimmed around him but the stage came to life. Music started and from beneath the stage a figure rose. He was wearing tight clothes and his hair had been styled differently now but Satoshi could see that the man on the stage was the same man that had given him the drink. Satoshi tried his best not to gasp at the sight but he did inch forward in his chair as the man lifted his arms to the ceiling an almost tortured expression on his face. The music playing around him recognised that this was a dramatic scene and Satoshi watched as Nino lifted himself from the stage and preformed a complex move with his legs and his arms which caused his body to contort in what he would have thought would have been painful.

His movements were silent upon the stage even during the quiet moments and Satoshi couldn’t believe that it was the same person that had been somewhat flirty with him. Nino moved around the stage solo for almost fifteen minutes and although he tried to pay attention to the plot he was more interested in the movements the man was doing with his hips and arms. When he eventually left the stage for a well-deserved rest while a group of dancers dressed like garden fairies came on to the stage Satoshi had to let out a breath that he hadn’t realised that he was holding.

For the next half-an-hour he could pick up what he supposed was the plot which seemed to involve the princess of the fairies having heartache. There were no words but the movement and music helped move it along. Thankfully Nino was soon back and he could watch him with the princess of the fairies. He found the uncomfortable knot of heat in his throat as they touched and stared at each other with deep longing. He was genuinely surprised by the ease of which Nino could pick up the girl and spin her around. They moved in a well-practiced way with their bodies almost slotting together perfectly.

“Ninomiya-san as improved ne?” An urgent whisper from behind said in an excited way and Satoshi was irritated that the person in question had pulled him out of the performance.

“Yes, he looks so good”

“Ssssh!” A third voice hissed and Satoshi sighed with happiness focusing on the dancers before the curtain fell for the intermission. A tinny speaker announced that they had fifteen minutes’ break and instead of fighting his way through the crowds again Satoshi stayed in his seat and pulled his phone back out composing a simple message to his daughter;

“Everything’s fine. I will call you later. Don’t worry”

“Am worried. Mum sounded angry” His daughter sent back almost immediately and Satoshi sighed for just a moment his eyes closing as he realised that yes his wife would be angry for his actions but he had been angry that she always wanted him to work around her. He rubbed his eyes with his fingertips and then became increasingly more convinced that somebody was staring at him.
