After eating the best dinner that he had ever tasted Nino left his husband in the bar and walked around the public areas of the hotel. The spa was still open but he decided to explore that later and turned on his heel heading into the arcade and he looked around with wonder at the lights and machines that were all around him. For years, he had seen the machines on television and had listened enviously when Masaki had talked about going on them on his honeymoon with Sho. He moved forward and let his hand move over the first of the machines. Near him loud music started playing and a group of teens started cheering and congratulating the one nearest the machine who had won a soft toy. It looked exciting and he wished that he could have asked Satoshi for some money to play on them.

“Mr Ohno!” A soft crisp voice called and Nino almost hurt his neck he moved around so quickly expecting to see his husband but only found a man dressed in a sleek red and black suit with a badge that announced that his name was Fumio. “Mr Ohno…”

“Who? Me…?” Nino asked dumbly realising that he was technically an Ohno now. The man smiled and then reached into his pocket to hand him an envelope. There was a crest of the hotel on the lip and he flipped it open to reveal a type of credit card. Slick black and red with gold and silver writing. He frowned and looked up at the man who didn’t seem that much older than he was and he gave a smile tilting his head to one side as he said;

“It’s from your husband, sir…It allows you unlimited credit on the machines here in the hotel and in our sister arcades around Japan. There is an information leaflet inside which tells you which places you can use it…” Nino pulled out the card and the information pack and the man motioned to the machine in front of him. “Here…Next to the slots for coins if you put your card in it should log you straight on…”

“Right…I just…I just…Put this in there…” Nino said slipping the card into the slot and watched in surprise as, after a few minutes, the counter symbol changed to 30.

“There is a limit on each of the machines but you don’t have to use them all…When you’re done you just press the little grey button and the card will pop out, of course if you want to use the same machine again just put the card back in…Anyway…Good luck and have fun, Mr Ohno…” Fumio said with a bow and then smartly turned away. Nino smiled, feeling a little embarrassed but extremely happy that he could play on the games. He allowed his fingers to move over the buttons on the machine and then very slowly started moving the crane towards the top prize.

For hours, he played the game with little success but eventually he caught and held two soft toys and brought them down to the basket. Music played as they hit the pressure pad and he let out a shout of joy. He dug into the machine and pulled out the two little ugly creatures that were rather cute in an odd way. Popping the card out of the machine he hugged his prize to his chest and then looked around the room for something else to play before realising just how late it was. Deciding that he wanted to be asleep before Satoshi came. He hugged his legs and then headed to the elevator smiling at the two teddies.
