Satoshi looked into the eyes of his date noticing that there was only honesty and faith in them. It gave him a warm feeling all over and he couldn’t resist smiling even at Sho’s somewhat harsh words about fixing cars. It wasn’t a glamourous life and, if he were being truly honest with himself, it wasn’t something that he particularly enjoyed but it was a steady career, people always needed their cars fixing after all but to be able to make a living out of the stuff he enjoyed would be something that he would find incredible to. It was something that he could look into, he supposed with a thoughtful shrug, what was the harm?
“I guess…I could look into it…Starting a business from scratch wouldn’t be easy…” He muttered knowing that he would never be able to afford the initial capital to set such a thing up and he knew that there was nobody willing to lend him the amount of money that it would take, not with his criminal record “I imagine…And I’m not really bankable materiel…”
“I am…” Sho announced with a little puff of his chest taking a step closer to him while at the same time eyeing the knife that was in his hands and Satoshi felt his lips twitch into something of a smile wondering exactly what was going through Sho’s mind “And I’m sure that my company would be willing to listen…”
“Three hours ago you were treating me like I was the scum at the bottom of your shoe and now you want to help me take out a loan?”
“…I want to make an investment…” Sho shrugged in response the look in his eyes telling him that his personal opinion didn’t come into a business choice “I like figures and I think that you could make a lot of money…”
“You think that fishing trips and outdoor cooking would be good business…?” Satoshi sighed having to admit that it sounded a lot more fun than rotating tyres and changing oil. He could imagine himself taking out groups, maybe even having a boat or two so they could go out further onto the lake, he had never thought about such a thing before. He’d had so many doors slammed in his face in the last couple of months that he had imagined working for his uncle for the rest of his life. Nino was smiling and nodding his hands around a large rock that would be brilliant for roasting the meat and giving it a flavour that only came from outdoor cooking.
“I do…It’s an up and coming thing with companies in the cities…Just think about it and let me know…I can do all of the paperwork that you might need…” Sho told him and slowly Satoshi nodded before turning back to gutting the fish his mind filled with a whirl of thoughts and imaginings. He could easily arrange for groups, businessmen from the city as well as teens. He knew other areas and he could be his own boss. The only downside was that he didn’t understand the paperwork that would come with it.
“I think you would be great…” Nino whispered coming to stand at his side with the rock still in his hands. He was looking nervous but he was smiling and Satoshi was filled with the urge to go along with it just because Nino believed in him and he scratched the back of his neck muttering;
“You say that but you’ve never seen me try to fill in paperwork…”
“I…Could help you…If you do decide to do it! I could learn…Jun’s going into business management after school I could learn or get him to teach me…”
“I’ll think it over…But I make no promises…That rock would be perfect wash it down with some water and then put against the fire…Be careful not to hurt yourself…”
