“Is that it?” Jun asked when they had left the circle after Noaki had given them a blessing and Nino let out a laugh guessing that it had been rather anticlimactic for somebody that had gotten themselves all worked up for it. He wasn’t really sure what Jun had been expecting but it wasn’t exactly a special day. The best days were the Ostara, Beltane, and Samhain and of course Yule, ordinarily it was just simply an ordinary day.

“What were you expecting? Animal sacrifice?” Nino joked offering him a coffee before turning and smiling at an elderly member of the group who asked for tea with a toothy smile and Nino returned it with one of his own. “Sorry…He’s new…”

“I know…it’s too cold for dancing around naked…Pity though would have been nice…” She winked saucily her eyes moving up and down Jun’s body, before she turned on her heel and hobbled off rather nimbly over the large roots that were sticking up out of ground and Nino let out a snort of laughter which only grew when he saw Jun’s bugged eyed expression.

“Is everyone here so…Open?” He asked colouring creeping into his cheeks and Nino gave a little nod and a shrug sipping his own drink, a rosehip tea, before answering;

“I guess…We’re all down to earth…There’s very little pretence here…Almost all things are accepted…I mean not a single person would care if we kissed…” He gave another shrug, supposing that one person would care but not because it was bad but because it hurt him, he turned away from his boyfriend colour high in his cheeks before continuing “My grandma took pains to mention that technically would could get married…It’s always been that way I think…Even when homosexuality was illegal in the UK people were able to get married and be together within their groups and their meeting spaces…Everyone in their group would protect them the best that he could...”

“…Sounds actually quite nice…”

“Yup...It’s a very free and easy religion…” Nino shrugged yet again drinking more of his tea before regaining focus as somebody else came for coffee bringing over finger sandwiches and a packet of bacon flavoured crisps “Thank-you…”

“You’re welcome…” She smiled her eyes going to Jun who was smiling politely and nervously looking as though he was worried that she was going to also make a comment about him dancing naked “...So is your boyfriend going to keep coming?”

“I don’t know…” Nino answered at the same time Jun was saying;

“I hope so…”

“Really? You want to keep coming?” Nino asked with genuine surprise hoping that Jun wasn’t just saying that to please him. He didn’t want Jun to be one of those types of guys who did and said everything just to please him. He hated people like that and the main reason that he enjoyed Jun so much was because they argued and had different ideas. Jun gave a nod and then shrugged himself flashing him a somewhat troubled smile before breathing;

“If that’s okay with you?”

“Yeah…It’s fine with me…But why? You don’t believe in this…”

“I don’t see why I shouldn’t…I believe in something and this has made the most sense to me so far…” Jun shrugged again playing around with his bangs and Nino had to admit that it was similar to the kinds of stuff he had been saying to his grandparents. Even if his family had followed this religion for a long time it wasn’t something that was forced on children but they were allowed to gravitate towards it naturally and he supposed Jun was free to makeup his own mind. He just hoped that Noaki wouldn’t mind it all that much.
