Nino looked up at Jun who was standing at the door noticing that the clothes he was wearing were different from the ones that he had left home in. They seemed as if they had been brought by somebody who knew Jun style but had none of his own picking up clothes from off the peg. His hair looked freshly washed and there was a calmer expression upon his face. The man had been near frantic that morning but now he was smiling again and his eyes were a little bit sparkly. He had brought the doctor Ohno with him and Nino had to admit that he rather liked the older man.
“How are you feeling, Kazunari-kun?” The man asked softly sitting on the bed and Nino gave an uninterested roll of the shoulders flinching when Jun coughed as a reminder of him to speak and he sighed grumbling;
“I’m not feeling like I’m on a cloud anymore…And my side doesn’t hurt...Much…”
“…Will you let me have a look at it?”
“Do I have a choice?” Nino asked even as he started to push the quilt down trying hard not to feel uncomfortable by the stares he was getting from both Ohno and Jun. The latter moved towards the door leaving without a word and Nino sagged with relief causing a chuckle to escape from Ohno’s mouth as he started to roll up his t-shirt exposing the bandage. His fingers were warm and gentle as he worked causing him no pain as he checked and changed the dressing and Nino found himself almost falling to sleep.
“You and Jun are still at odds?” The man asked when he was done and Nino gave another shrug deciding that even if he liked the older man he didn’t have to answer him. The doctor gave a laugh reaching out and ruffling his hair in a father like way. “…Jun would probably hate me for interfering but…I want you to know that you shouldn’t judge him on the way that he acts…He has been through so much in his life and it is rare for him to care so much about somebody that he lets them into his life let alone his home”
“I didn’t ask him to take care of me…” Nino grumbled knowing in his heart that it wasn’t completely true. When he had come to from being stabbed the only place that he could think of to come was Jun. He hadn’t even thought of Masaki the only name that came to mind was Jun and it seemed, from the way that Ohno was staring at him, he didn’t believe him.
“You did…By going to his club you asked him to take care of you and that isn’t a bad thing…” Ohno hummed gently with a reassuring tone “I doubt that there is anybody better to take care of you but you have to take on all of what that means…”
“He’s killed him hasn’t he?” Nino breathed with sudden realisation. Ohno didn’t answer directly but he didn’t deny it out right and Nino swallowed tears of relief and happiness forming in his eyes as fear, which he hadn’t known he was holding inside, seeped out of his body and he sagged with more peace than anything else. He supposed that he had hoped Jun would take action, he had heard of his reputation after all, but he had never in a million years imagined that it would be so quickly. “What will happen...? People will find out…Matsumoto…”
“…Will be fine…Though…Now that he has helped you, you have to help me…I need you to try and be nicer to him and keep an eye on him for me…”
