krystalkatzficz“Ninomiya-san…” A voice, soft and gentle called to him and Nino groaned trying to pull his eyes open and wake up his neck stiff from sleeping in a strange position “Are we disturbing you?”
“Hunh? Um…Sorry…” Nino blinked trying hard to get the fiery, itchy, sleep from his eyes unable to believe that he had actually fallen to sleep at his desk. He looked up slowly wiping drool from his lower lip and staring directly into the face of his CEO. “I’m sorry sir! I didn’t mean…We…We up late…”
“Forgive me, Ninomiya-san but I don’t care about your personal life” The man growled in complete contrast to the way he was yesterday. Nino flinched wishing that he had explained himself a lot better than he had. His eyes went to Jun’s door surprised to see that Jun was standing there watching over him. “The company doesn’t forbid employees dating each other so long as it doesn’t affect their work…”
“No! I’m sorry…” He whispered, moving his eyes away from Jun trying hard to be confident but falling under the stare that he was being given by his boss. “…I didn’t mean…Kaito…I had to take her to the vet…”
“I see…I would rather that that didn’t mean you slept at work…” Ohno barked and Nino couldn’t blame him. He had been worried about this happening even with the amount of coffee that he had consumed that morning. It would be just his luck though that the rare time Ohno would come down to their offices was when he was asleep.
“I’m sorry, sir, it won’t happen again…”
“Make sure it doesn’t…” Ohno nodded turning and heading towards Jun before turning and asking over his shoulder “Is she okay?”
“Um…Y-yeah…” Nino nodded his cheeks burning brightly as he hung his head his eyes fixed on the floor as he started slowly to smile, his hand reaching to rub the back of his neck wondering why they were doomed to keep feeding the gossips in their office lately. Ohno’s face completely softened and he turned back to face him fully asking;
“I’m glad…What was wrong with her?”
“Her kittens one was too large…She had to have a C-section, but they’re okay and we should be able to take them home tonight…” Nino dropped back into his chair as Ohno let out a chuckle rubbing his chin before saying;
“I may have to find my way back to your apartment…”
“I’d be careful, sir” Nino laughed glad that the man had well and truly calmed down now. It was still nerve wrecking talking to him but at least now it felt like it had when they had been drinking last night ad Ohno was looking somewhat human and approachable again “Jun is already talking about giving you one of the kittens when they’re old enough…”
“And I will probably happily accept. Jun knows that I’ve been wanting a cat for a while…Last night with Kaito just prompted it again…” Ohno gave him a smile his eyes dancing warmly before he checked his watch and murmuring “Anyway, Ninomiya-san…You and I should get back to work, that I suppose I would suggest that you have a coffee…”
“He’s already had 5 cups of coffee today and it’s not even lunch yet…” Jun grumbled from the entrance of his office and Nino very almost stuck his tongue out at him but he decided against it, not wanting to appear childish in front of his boss and the gossipers.
“I know and that is why I wasn’t going to get coffee…” Nino mumbled with a mild huff turning back to his completer and do someone else’s paperwork. It wasn’t something that he had to do but he hoped that it would smooth things over with those around him and it seemed to be working.
