Jun waited for almost the end of the work day before summoning Hana to his office. The woman had the grace to look downcast and almost apologetic as she stood in front of him but in his mind it was too little and far too late. She hung her head and shuffled her feet on the thick carpet and Jun waited for a long time using the awkward silence to set her on edge before he cleared his throat and tapped his fingers on the desk causing her eyes to look up at him.

“…I think that you why you’re here, Tachibana-san…” He said slowly and coldly knowing that he was being cruel but she had been to him and Nino. Hana nodded slowly her hands squeezing into tight little fists on either side of her body her mouth drawn into a thin narrow line as she whispered;

“The rumours…I didn’t mean to start them…I was just upset…I mean who wouldn’t be? I found out that you were gay and with him…” Hana almost spat the word him and any sympathy that Jun might have started to feel for her evaporated in an instant knowing that she was just acting out her apology “I mean come on your living with him, that fag…”

“Because I am a fag too…”

“Whatever…” She mumbled her nose wrinkling with more than faint traces of disgust as she waved her hands around like a windmill “…I just complained a little and…”

“The rumours started…It’s of little consequence now, action has already been decided…” Jun hummed softly watching the realisation dawning on her face. Her mouth dropped open and her eyes widened. Her hand came to grip tightly at her throat, twisting the golden chain around her fingers. Jun noted that her engagement ring was back on her finger and he wondered just what type of guy could keep accepting her back when she was clearly unstable.

“What…What do you mean action?”

“Your contract with our firm is being terminated” Jun answered with a disinterested shrug knowing that his cold attitude towards her would hurt her more than what he was actually saying.

“What?! You can’t do that! It was just a little rumour! It’s not my fault that people find it disgusting like I do! If anybody should be fired, it should be your little boyfriend…” She growled and Jun smirked his eyes flashing angrily as he continued in a smooth professional tone;

“I warned you not to say anything...But the rumour isn’t the reason for your termination…Your obsession with me on the other hand is cause for concern, I have tried to be nice but I think that it would be in your best interest to move to another company…We are prepared to give you excellent references…”

“Shove them up your arse...” Hana spat turning on her heel and stalking out of the office, causing the glass to rattle in the frames as she went. Jun watched her stalk to the stairs not having the patience to wait for the elevator and he gave a sigh rubbing his forehead slowly smoothing away the creases around his eyes until he felt a presence beside him and a hand gently moving through his hair.

“Nino?”

“Yup…You okay?” Nino asked his fingers moving in circles now, making it feel almost like a massage and Jun kept his eyes closed enjoying the feeling as much as he could, never knowing when Nino would do something as sappy as this again.

“Just tired, it feels like I’ve been at work for a month rather than a day…” He answered with a wary smile looking up at him “Wanna head home?”

“Yeah...Just…give me a few minutes to get my stuff…”

“Okay…”
