Did you have fun?” Jun asked later that evening when they were back on the docks and Nino flushed brightly and proudly holding up the ugly looking fish that he had pulled in. The fish had given him quite a fight but together he and Ohno had managed to pull it onto the boat. It was an impressive fat fish and Ohno had promised him that it would taste nice.
“I caught one! It’s a red sea beam!” He announced proud that he had remembered the name that the therapist had told him. Jun smiled his hand ruffling through his hair before he tugged him into his chest his chin resting on the top of his head. “Ohno-san said that we could have a BBQ and he would cook it...Can we? Or…Do you want to go to…To the hotel?”
“No…We can go to Satoshi’s if you want, Nino…A BBQ sounds perfect…Is there anything you want me to bring?” Jun asked looking at the older man who was cleaning off his boat and smiling at them both brightly as he shook his head.
“Nope, just yourselves…” He answered slowly “I’ll take the fish and you head up to my house in around forty-five minutes? Give Nino chance to clean off and get some rest?”
Nino placed the fish back down onto the boat feeling foolish that the older man hadn’t been as excited as he had been over the fish. Jun had already told him that he didn’t like fishing so why would he care that he had caught his first fish? It wasn’t a big deal, he was just his owner nothing more even when he was being nice.
“You are amazing…” Jun said suddenly picking him up and spinning him around so fast that he had to hold him tightly. “I told you that you could do anything…”
“…Ohno-san did most of it” Nino whispered modestly his cheeks flushing brightly as Jun continued to hold him suspended in the air.
“That’s a lie and you know it, you did most of the work…” Ohno chuckled with just as much pride in his voice as there was in Jun’s and Nino couldn’t stop himself from flushing even more brightly proud of their pride in him. “He was great…We did get some others but Nino insisted on showing you his first catch…He was very proud of it…”
“And so he should be…” Jun chuckled his voice warm as he lowered him to the ground and stared into his face his hands cupping his cheeks as “I’m very proud of you…”
“Thank-you…It was fun…Frances is cute…” Nino whispered gently his heart racing at the look that was in Jun’s eyes and the way that his tongue was moving slowly over his lips. He was almost convinced that Jun was going to kiss him but a laugh from Ohno broke the spell that they were under and together moved around to look at him.
“If you don’t get back to the hotel soon you might as well not go back…”
“Right, thank-you…” Jun hummed and Nino quickly bowed his face scarlet as he whispered almost breathlessly;
“Thank-you for looking after me and teaching me how to fish…”
“Any time, Kid, we can do it again tomorrow if you like? After you’ve been surfing…Or we can go to an aquarium…” Ohno suggested and Nino bobbed up and down hoping that he could spend more time with Jun but it would be nice to time with Ohno he did feel better after crying anyway.
