Jun poured out the coffee into two black mugs while waiting for Nino to come back from checking out his room. Nino appeared as if he had been summoned and sat on the stool in front of him his eyes wide with surprise and curiosity as he asked;

“Did you go out and buy me a new bed or something?”

“No…” Jun lied carefully sensing that Nino wouldn’t be too happy if he said yes. “Why?”

“The mattress still has plastic wrap on it…” Nino murmured slowly and pointedly and Jun could feel some warmth coming into his cheeks but he pushed it away and shook his head with a charming smile and a shrug.

“Ah…Well that’s because it’s never been used…” He mumbled glad that it was just the bed that Nino was moaning about “I completely outfitted the apartment when I first moved in, including the spare room but I never got around having guests stay...Does it bother you?”
“No…It’s nice big bed…And I’m actually glad that I don’t have to sleep on a bed somebody else has…” Nino said and Jun almost mouthed the word ‘but’ along with him as he gave a sigh and looked around the apartment “But...Are you really sure you want me to stay? I mean it’s clear that you like your apartment free of clutter or baggage…Wouldn’t I just be annoying to you?”

“You’re being annoying right now…If I didn’t want you to stay I wouldn’t have asked you to…” Jun said saying his second lie of the evening. He still couldn’t understand why he wanted Nino to stay. Okay he obviously found him attractive, he had already admitted as much to himself in the café but that didn’t explain why he was so easily opening up his home to him “I’ve got the space and even if you’re somewhat lazy at work you don’t come across as a slob, as long as you pick up after yourself then I don’t see any problem with you fitting in…So stop worrying about it…Do you like pasta?”

“Huh?” Nino blinked thrown by the sudden question and Jun smiled turning to his cupboard and pulling out the bag of pasta that he had brought yesterday. Nino looked at it with suspicion for a moment until he relaxed while Jun began to get out the rest of the ingredients clarifying softly;

“I was thinking of making pasta to eat would you like some?”

“Um…I guess so…I should be heading back to Masaki’s at some point…” Nino pulled a face at that and Jun could understand why Sho had already told him that he and Masaki had a date that night and it probably meant another night on the sofa for him “Though…It would have been easier if I brought some of my stuff and stayed here…”

“Date night?” Jun asked though he already knew the answer, beginning to warm a pan for the meat and Nino pulled a face as he drank his coffee his head nodding slowly.

“Yep…”

“I’ve got bedding you can use and a change of pyjamas…” Jun said trying not to make it too quick but wanting him to know that he had options “The suit will be okay for another day if you change out of it now…”

“I still have to head back to my own apartment at some point…More so since I’m moving in here…” Nino gave a long heavy sigh pinching his nose his troubled expression filling his eyes again. Jun nodded with a hum taking out his sharp vegetable knife from the drawer saying;
“We can go tomorrow…During the day if you like…We can make up some excuse about visiting the brewery, my day’s clear…”

“Um…Okay…Thanks…”
