Nino stopped crying when Ohno held out a handkerchief to him and he gave a weak and watery smile of thanks wiping eyes and blowing his nose as the Frances licked him again trying his best to do what he could to cheer him up.

“I’m sorry…” He whispered to both the dog and the man and Ohno crouched down in front of him giving him a truly comforting smile as he stroked at his arm shaking his head and saying gently;

“You should never apologise for crying, Nino-kun, it’s just an expression of your true feelings…” Nino frowned trying to understand what he was talking about but failing and Ohno seemed to understand that as he gave him another bright smile and ruffled his hair with just his fingertips before saying in a much more simple way “You cry because you’re upset and it’s the only way you are able to express that…And that is perfectly normal so nothing that you should have to apologise for…You might as well apologise for breathing…”

“I don’t cry…” Nino said stubbornly screwing up the handkerchief in a fist refusing to admit that he had cried only last night when meeting this man for the first time. Tears were a weakness and never helped. He had cried for weeks when he had first been sold but it had done nothing just made his throat and eyes ache “Crying doesn’t solve anything…”

“Then you’ve never really allowed yourself to cry, I cry all of the time…” Ohno chuckled looking so honest that Nino couldn’t even bring himself to accuse him of making fun of him “Mostly when I’m drunk and watching a sappy film but it solves a lot…Do you know when you’re injured you bleed and then you get a scab that helps heal the wound? When you have a wound on your heart…It works just the same way…But with tears, the tears fall and then you can heal…Sorry, Nino-chan…I’m a therapist so…When I see somebody that needs help…I can’t help myself…I want to help them…”

“I don’t need help…Everything is fine” Nino responded promptly, saying exactly the same words that both his former owners had drilled into him and Ohno gave him an almost sad smile before blinking and moving away from him.

“…Well I do, I want you to help me steer this boat…” He said motioning to the wheel that seemed to be fixed in one position and Nino licked his lips nervously unable to get a handle on the man that seemed to be up and down like a yo-yo with his emotions and actions. Sort of like him really. “So we can go fishing…”

“I…Can’t…I…Will crash!”

“You won’t you’ll do a great job, I have a sixth sense about these things…” The older man chuckled beckoning him with a hand and slowly Nino got to his feet and walked over to him his heart drumming out a nervous beat against his ribs “And if you’re worried it’s okay there’s nothing out here for you to crash on…”

“You’re sure?” Nino whispered as he was positioned behind the wheel with Ohno’s hands moving his where he wanted them before stepping again and giving him the space to relax again

“Positive…I want you to steer the boat to your right okay?” Ohno told him and slowly Nino did as he was told his heart swooping with joy when he realised that he was really controlling the boat “Feels good to be the one in control ne?”

A/N: Ohno is a strange therapist but I based him on one I had in college whose therapy included me riding a motorbike >.< I hope that this is okay ^_^

The puppy story hit me hard! I'm very sensible with animals and it really took all Nino's pain and suffer to another level! So glad Ohno and Jun will help him TwT

I think Nino's therapy might take some time, the previous owner plant the idea to Nino's head since he was a child but he can get through this, especially with Jun by his side. ^_^
