krystalkatzficzUnfortunately Nino wasn’t able to ride a wave that day. He attempted to and even managed to stand on the board but before he realised it he was being pushed off time and time again until he was crying with frustration and the muscles in his body were starting to ache with a low pulsing. Once he saw his tears Jun moved from his own board and came and sat on his holding him tightly as Nino pressed his face into his wet chest and sobbed loudly terrified that Jun was going to punish him for not living up to his belief.
“I’m sorry! I wanted to ride it! I did but I kept falling off…I’m sorry…I’m sorry…”
“Nino…” Jun sighed squeezing him a little more tightly as his hands moved up and down his back his face pressing into his wet strands of hair “It’s okay…You can try again tomorrow…It’s not a big deal…”
“But you said that I would be able to do it! I should have…I let you down, I’m sorry…I didn’t…I couldn’t…I’m sorry…”
“Please stop apologising, you didn’t let anybody down...You were amazing…” Jun said gripping him by the shoulders and moving him away from his body. For a moment Nino panicked thinking that he was about to strike him but he just shook him a little and gave him a sweet smile “You’ve tried this only once before, yesterday…Just being able to get to your feet is an amazing achievement…I could be more happy with you…”
“You…You mean that?”
“Of course I do you’re perfect, my little Nino…” Jun chuckled moving forward and pressing his lips to his forehead. It was a gentle warm kiss and one that somehow managed to soothe away the fear that he was feeling “Unfortunately we have to head back to land now but…If you like would you like to spend the afternoon with Satoshi? He might take you fishing…”
“Um…Wouldn’t I just be bother to him?” Nino asked worrying his bottom lip with his teeth but Jun shook his head and gave him a breath taking smile as he stroked his neck in such a way that Nino felt his heart flutter against his ribs.
“If you actually enjoy it he’ll be over the moon. So what do you say? Want to go fishing?”
“I…Um…If…If Ohno-san doesn’t mind…” Nino answered with a nod trying hard to swallow down his tears and his fears as he played around with the wetsuit he was wearing. Jun smiled again light kissing at his nose before they headed back to the beach and picked up their belongings. The boat had come in when they were ready to leave and the captain gave him a smile as he helped him into the boat saying something in English that he didn’t understand.
“He said that you looked better today than you did yesterday…” Jun told him with a smile and Nino flushed thanking the man the best he could before moving quickly away from him and tucking himself into Jun’s side not wanting him to think that he was flirting. His former master would smile when people talked to him but would start beating him and accusing him of flirting when they were alone. “It’s okay Nino, I’m going to call Satoshi and have him meet you at the docks…I’m sure you’ll enjoy fishing…”
