krystalkatzficz“Mother?” Jun questioned when Kazu couldn’t find the words and just ended up staring at the queen with his mouth hanging open like a fish that was forced onto land. Aurora smiled sadly picking at the remains of the fruit that was on her plate.
“…It was Kazuko that was set to marry him…It was not a love match I swear to you now…I would never have come between them if it were…Your mother had been promised to Satoshi when she was only three years old…” She sighed slowly looking up at Kazuko “…When met and fell in love on that first summer…It was a painful time for us all…Your mother released Satoshi with a full heart when she realised that he loved me but…Her parents were not pleased and they married her off to your father before the summer was out…I have not seen her since…In the early years I wrote but each of my letters were returned unopened…Eventually I assumed that she did not want to ever know me again…”
“So the reason my mother married my father…Was because…” Kazu asked biting on his lip thinking about his mother and all that she had to cope with. His mother could have had a different and softer life had she married the king. It was possible of course that it wouldn’t have been any better than the life she had had but he doubted that the king would have treated her the way that his father did. But Aurora had said that his mother had given Satoshi up freely and it was like her to do something like that. It had been her parents that had made her marry the Ninomiya lord neither of them could have arranged that.
“I stole Satoshi...” Aurora mumbled, answering his unfinished question and Kazu shook his head squeezing the fingers that were still wrapped around his hand and saying with confidence;
“I doubt very much that you stole him…He is not an object…And I doubt my mother would have wanted to loose contact with you…”
“I thank-you for saying so but…”
“…She has never been allowed to open her own letters, none of us have been…My father sorts through them and opens them for us…If there is something that he does not approve of he throws them in the fire…” Kazu mumbled surprised when Jun tensed completely at his side his hand darting out so he was gripping his knee almost painfully tight.
“…I…See…That I did not know…” Aurora sighed closing her eyes and seemingly slumping in her chair a defeated expression on her face. “I admit with the marriage between you and Jun I believed that maybe we could mend the bridges between us…I had visions of us planning the wedding together but…”
“My father dealt with everything…” Kazu let out a sigh glad that Jun’s hand had released on his leg a little though it was still there just resting on his skin his thumb making gentle swirling movements that strangely calmed his heart down.
“Your father is a deeply controlling man…And there was much that my husband had to handle here in town that prevented us from attending…” Aurora gave another sigh and then straightened up smiling a little as he flashed him a look that seemed to be sparkling “I think that your father-in-law and I might visit your parents…We will be going to that part of the country…I think that it is time that I spoke to my dear cousin again…”
“I think that she would be happy to see you, your…Aurora…” Kazu smiled bobbing his head hoping that that would be true. At the very least not even his father and brother would be able to be openly cruel to his mother while the king was there. Feeling a little better now he plucked some of the fruit from the bowl on the table aware that Jun was watching him closely.

“I am sorry…” Masaki whispered, his voice still a little breathless, as they picked up the mess of paperwork and pens from the floor. Sakurai gave a chuckle bobbing him on the top of his head with his chin a handful of papers in his hands as replied with another laugh and a just as breathless;
“No need to apologise…I can assure you that that was much better than the paperwork…It was the best thing to ever happen on my desk…And I hope that we may be able to do more when I am better prepared…”
“Sho!” Masaki gasped loudly his cheeks going a very deep red as he caught the meaning of the words behind the very suggestive smile that Sakurai was giving him. Sakurai gave another long laugh holding up his arms to defend himself from his attacks the papers falling around him like large lumps of snow. “You are a pervert…”
“It is the truth…But you are to blame…You are very beautiful my love…” Sakurai teased grabbing his arms by the wrists and pulling him against his body their lips meeting in a rough but sweet kiss that lacked any of the fire from earlier but was filled with a whole lot of love that had him melting against the older man. Thankfully this time neither of their bodies reacted with anything more than heart palpitations that had them holding each other until the sound of a door opening and a gasp pulled them apart.
“I…I am sorry my lords!” A startled sounding voice gasped and Masaki recognised it as belonging to the young maid. He groaned flushing brightly and burying his face into the neck of his husband wondering who else was going to see them being intimate “I…I came to see to the fire…I…Um…I will come back…Later…”
“Yes…Do that…” Sakurai agreed lightly his fingers tapering up and down Masaki’s spine trying to calm him down “Ah will you ask your grandfather to come...In a few moments…I would like to speak to him about a dog…”
“Yes…Of course my lord…” The girl whispered quickly leaving the room and closing the door with a soft click and Masaki sagged completely while Sakurai gave a chuckle squeezing him tightly again and saying;
“I am going to have to have a very serious talk with our staff about knocking before entering…I suppose they are so used to it just being me here alone or away…Please do not be embarrassed…”
“Even if you say that of course I’m going to be embarrassed…People keep seeing us like that! They are going to think that I am nymphomaniac!”
“…Well I will have to reassure them that it is me that cannot get enough of your body…” Sakurai laughed tilting his face up and brushing his lips against his forehead. “I love you and I will worship your body for the as long as I am able…I am not ashamed of that…”
“You…You really are a pervert…” Masaki said flushing again though he had to admit that it was through more happiness than embarrassment. Sakurai let out another laugh kissing him once more before pushing him away and saying;
“Indeed…But only for you, my Masaki…Now…You should go and get yourself on the settee…If you stay so close to me I will not be able to control myself again…Hopefully we will have some information on getting a pup for you soon…”
