Our First Summer part ninety-one

Jun frowned at the weird half smile, half tearful look that was on his mums face as he folded Nino’s clothes. Nino had shown remarkable recovery and although the hospital would have wanted to keep him in longer Nino had been given the go ahead to leave the hospital that morning with the promise that he was hire a private nurse to come in and monitor him for a few days. Jun had wanted to ask him to stay in longer but at the same time now he was celebrating that fact by having an extra-long shower. They could hear him through the walls singing at the top of his lungs and Jun could only hope that his shower cap was still in place over his bandages.

“What’s wrong?” He asked his hands stalling on the pyjama top that he was folding really completely unnerved by the looks he was being given. Kimiko sighed leaving against the bed as Nino broke into a loud and slightly nasally rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody in the bathroom. Jun fought a laugh keeping his focus on his mother as she started speaking,

“Nothing...Just...There’s a part of me that wants to take you away with me when I leave here...”

“Mum...” Jun whined a little his eyes rolling, he thought that she was being understanding, she had told him and Nino that she wasn’t going to stand in their way. He could understand that she would be concerned and he had been both surprised and confused that she had taken the whole thing as well as she had. Before he could really work up into an argument Kimiko waved her hands around and let out a tired sounding sigh,

“I’m not going too...I’ve decided that...No matter my personal opinion I will support you, both of you...but you can’t begrudge me some maternal feelings, Jun...” She said softly a smile barely on her face anymore,

“I don’t...Not really...I’m just...I don’t want you to worry about me...” Jun said not noticing that the door to the bathroom had opened and Nino had come out until there was a hand on his shoulder and his lover said,

“Sorry JJ, that isn’t going to happen...She’s always going to worry about you...” Jun turned to look at Nino his cheeks flushing when he saw that he was only wearing two towels one around his waist while the other was wrapped around his shoulders. His shower cap was still on pressing against the bandage. The operation had been almost completely non-intrusive but on Nino’s small head the bandage looked huge. Nino though was smiling happily the colour back in his face, in fact Jun was positive that he was looking younger now that the pain was gone. Most of the wrinkles that had been around his eyes have vanished and his jaw had slackened into an easy smile. His gaze was still intense though and Jun could feel in his insides turning with happiness when it was fixed on him “It’s one of the things you have to learn about parents...”

“That’s true...” Kimiko smiled and Jun noticed that she had a blush in her own cheeks her fingers moving through hair that was shorter than his own as her eyes were pointedly looking at anywhere but at Nino and Jun felt an overwhelming surge of jealousy and he grabbed Nino’s short from the pile and pressed it into his cheeks his blush getting deeper when Nino’s smile got wider and he kiss him lightly on the nose.

“You make a good wife, JJ...” He breathed and Jun flushed completely pulling away his hands flailing around when he caught the look that his mum was giving him.

“That’s not...I’m not...If anything you’re the wife...I mean I’m the one who...” Jun’s voice died when Nino’s small but very cute hand came up to cover his mouth a chuckle escaping his mouth his head slowly shaking from side to side.

“You talk too much...” He said kissing his cheek before letting him go and grabbing his trousers from the side “Be back in a minute...Please don’t talk too much while I’m away, ‘kay JJ?”

“Um...Yeah...Um...” Jun stammered his eyes going back to his mum who was fighting with either laughing or crying. Jun dropped his face away finishing his packing of Nino’s bag. Kimiko gave a cough and then shuffled a little coming to join him as he started to pack away his toiletries. “...Um...”

“I think there are some things that your parents shouldn’t know...But you and he...You’re safe...Protection and everything...”

“Yes...” Jun squeaked wishing that he could be anywhere but in that room right now Kimiko seemed to take pity on him, squeezing his shoulder tightly before kissing the top of his head

“I’d better go and pack my own things...I’ll see you a little later...” She said and Jun nodded remembering that Nino had promised to take them for dinner before she had to head back home. Jun gave a weak smile and then a nod keeping his eyes on the bag still embarrassed by what he had pretty much revealed to her.

“See you later” He mumbled feeling shy under her gaze, Kimiko gave another chuckle and then left walking out of the room just as Masako and Sho came in.

“Matsumoto-san, good afternoon” Masako said cheerfully sounding happier and more relaxed than she had since her dad had been brought into the hospital and Jun was glad. He had been worried that Masako was going to worry herself sick. He turned around ignoring his mum and gave a wave and a smile “Jun, how’s my daddy?”

“Hello, nice to see you too, I slept well thank-you” Jun said sarcastically poking her shoulder and Masako gave an apologetic smile rubbing the back of her head as she said,

“Sorry, good afternoon...How are you?”

“I’m fine and your daddy is fine...In fact he’s being let out today...Under the condition that he rests and gets a nurse to come in to check on him...” Jun told her waiting for the reaction that he knew that was coming. Sure enough Masako’s face clouded over all at once, worry filled her eyes again and her teeth came down to nibble and chew at her lip her fingers twisting around at she said worriedly;

“What so soon? But he’s only just had his operation, he should be resting...”

“I know but I think being here is making him worse and grumpier...He hates being here...he can rest at home...” Jun shrugged not telling his friend that he had had the same argument with his lover that morning “They don’t normally keep people in for very long with Kazu’s problem...They’re just concerned because of his blood pressure but I won’t let him get like that again...”

“Fine...But he’d better rest...” She pouted her arms folding across her chest though her mood stopped when Nino came out of the bathroom fully dressed and looking happy, “Daddy, Jun said that you are coming home today”

“Yes...They’ve finally released me...So how was your night did you enjoy the movies?”

“...Yes, daddy...” Masako blushed her face turning to Sho who was sitting on the bed staring at the opposite wall. Jun frowned and was about to ask if everything was okay when a nurse stuck his head in smiling in an overly friendly way at Nino causing another rush of anger in Jun’s stomach.

“Ninomiya-san if you or your son would come and sign some paperwork...” He said and Jun tensed again moving closer to Nino his eyes narrowing at the friendly face who looked surprised at his action,

“I guess that I should come since I don’t have a son...” Nino said cheerfully before turning around and kissing Jun fully on the mouth. Jun wanted to wrap his arms around him and hold him tightly but Nino was soon pulling away and walking over to the dazed and slightly jealous looking nurse. Jun gave a smirk and licking his lips happily as he watched them leave.

“Is Sho okay?” Jun asked jerking his head at Sho who hadn’t moved a muscle since he had flopped into the chair, not even when Nino had asked him how his movies were. It was like his eyes had been hallowed out and his cheeks were pinched. His skin was a weird ash grey and his lips looked bruised from

“Yeah” Masako answered before giggling and leaning in close to whisper in his ear “He phoned his dad this morning...And he caught him in bed with Uncle Toma...”

“Toma...?” Jun repeated slowly as he tried to place the name, it took a while but he got there and he murmured “The guy that’s his manager now?”

“Yep...Sho has been a little shell shocked since...” Masako answered giggling again her hand going to her mouth looking like a hyper child. Jun had to admit that he could understand Sho’s surprise, he was surprised to hear it though not as surprised when he heard her next words “I can understand it though...Toma used to date my dad...”

“A long time...Ago...Besides he was always more interested in Oh-chan...” Nino said from the doorway “If they’re happy together who are we to judge...Come on I want to get out of here...I really want some real food...”

Wooooooow! So Nino is the mind behind the happy couple, huh?
At least he let Ohno in good hands.
I just wonder why poor Sho is so shocked about it!

yup well he knew that Toma fancied Ohno and he asked Toma to look after him, he planned it all really ne :D
He's just a bit shocked to know his dad has a sex life :D
