krystalkatzficz“To see…I…Wha-…I can’t…Kazu...” Satoshi gasped backing away pulling away from Nino’s grip and Nino chewed his lips hurt coming into his eyes and Jun gave a growl his arms and hands clenching tightly. He was forcing back his Siren instincts the best that he could but it was a close thing. Nino was his mate and, just to add more confusion, his matriarch and he could feel the emotions that were coming off him in waves and it was messing him up more than he had been prepared for. He had never been intended to be the mate of a matriarch and if he had known the truth about Nino’s messed up family relations he would have convinced him to live on the island and join his family shoal. It was too late for that now and all Jun could do was make sure that Nino and his four kits were okay
Satoshi took a step towards his brother and the kits and Jun tensed watching him closely. His fists clenched when he felt the gentle hope that had blossomed out from his mate, he could feel how much his mate needed this. The kits sang out happily and Satoshi gave a gasp stopping from and Jun could feel the change in the moods.
“I’m sorry…” Satoshi whispered turning and running out of the cellar. Jun hurried over to his mate, pulled by the need to comfort him, Nino sagged against him and Jun slipped his arm around his back.
“Couldn’t you…Make him…More…Responsive?” Nino asked softly, his voice sounding broken as he watched his brother scramble up the steps and out of the basement. Reluctantly Jun shook his head hating that he had to upset his mate.
“I told you my call wouldn’t be as affective on Satoshi he isn’t gay and even if it was I wouldn’t use it…It would change him too much and you need your brother just as he is…” Jun sighed and Nino chewed his lips with a nod the sadness not leaving his eyes as he went over to the nest. The eggs sang loudly as he approached and Jun listened to it for a few minutes before making up his mind. Dressing completely he pulled himself he walked up the stone steps and out of the house. Satoshi was already bolting down the stone drive and Jun let out a soft musical sigh calling the carriage that he had had made ready for him and Nino’s trip into town. He jumped up into the front seat and clicked the reigns following the tanned older man.
Satoshi turned when he heard the carriage his eyes widening in mild horror when he saw him and Jun heaved out another sigh wondering how he thought that he was going to hurt him.
“I will give you a lift…” Jun said looking down at the older man that had been so nice to him when he was younger. It wasn’t a question but a demand and he reached down and grabbed him pulling him up onto the wooden seat beside him with more strength than his arms looked like they held.
“What do you want?” Satoshi spat as he clicked the horses to walk on out of the garden and onto the cobbled London streets. The smog that rolled off of the river was fainter here in the in the leafy suburb but it still managed to cast a shroud over the streets and Jun used his keener senses to navigate his way through with ease.
“I wanted to apologise…” Jun said soft in answer to the question looking at the horses as he eased them off of the cobbled road and onto a small patch of greenery barely seen through the fog. It was more possible for him to control his emotions here away from the kits and his mate and he no longer felt murderous when Satoshi frowned, his eyes narrowing sharply as he turned in the chair to look at him hissing out an almost bitter,
“Why?”
“Because I have taken your brother, the last family that you have…” Jun said softly and Satoshi growled his arms folding across the front of his chest his muscles rippling through the shirt that he was wearing.
“And you’ve come to rub that in? You’re too late…I lost him when I sent him to America...I knew that…” He spat his voice echoing with pain and anger. Jun could detect some fainter emotions that he couldn’t quite place, but he suspected that there was regret.
“Then you’re more of an idiot than I would have thought…” He snapped, with an amazing show restraint his eyes went their tropical colour and he knew that some scales would form around his ears and jaw as his reached out and touched the mans startled face
“What…What are you…?” Ohno gasped his tongue moving over his lips slowly and Jun could feel the nerves and fear coming off of him in waves and he gave his best creepy smile before answering,
“Kazunari...He has asked me to take all of your memories of him and I can, I can do all that and then I can make it so that it would be like your little brother never existed for you…”
“What?” Satoshi gasped his mouth falling open as eyes widened in disbelief and Jun shrugged his shoulders feigning mild disinterest
“That’s what you want isn’t it? You’ve already lost him so you must be in a lot of pain…I can make it so that you never feel that again…”
“So why don’t you?” Satoshi's chin jutted out and his eyes narrowed losing some of the surprise replaced by mock anger that only lightly hid the concern that he had for himself and his brother
“…Because that’s not what you really want deep down you want your brother and he wants you…” Jun answered softly his hand dropping down from Satoshi face. It would be so much easier on him to just wipe his memory but knowing that that wouldn’t really make his mate happy stopped him from doing it still wanting to find a way to convince Satoshi.
“I…I can’t…I can’t understand any of this...You…And your…The…Whatever those things are…” Satoshi whispered all pretence of anger leaving him quickly as he sagged into the seat looking forlornly out into the small scrap of green that could be seen through the fog.
“My k-Babies…And Kazunari’s too…” Jun said trying not to react too badly to the term ‘things’. “They will look just like human babies they will look like Kazunari…And me…There are four of them…I can tell you their genders if that would make you feel any better…”
“What…What are they?” Satoshi asked and Jun gave a smile his eyes flashing a little, if there was one thing a siren liked to talk about as much as their mates it was their kits.
“Two girls and two boys although Kazunari is convinced that he has three girls…The second boy’s song is more like his sisters because he will be the same as I am…” He answered carefully watching the light dawn in Satoshi's face as he understood the meaning but still asked the question.
“What does that mean…?”
“His mate will be a boy…” Jun confirmed with a nod and Satoshi closed his eyes and gave a long sigh before picking himself up and looking at him again
“And you’re not worried about this…About the fact that it is illegal to engage in the acts that you are flaunting?”
“As I have told you I will not let anything happen to Kazunari he is my mate, my matriarch, the second father to my kits and the love of my life…I cannot be with anybody else…Even now if Kazunari rejected me…I would kill myself…When he dies I will follow exactly 2 minutes and 34 seconds later…” Jun told him, knowing that he was giving his brother-in-law more information than he had given his mate so far
“Why…Exactly…?”
“That was how long it took me to mark him as my own…” Jun sighed brushing his fingers through his hair and sighing lightly “Kazunari isn’t aware of all of this yet…”
“So why are you telling me…?”
“To help you understand that I understand that your fears are about Kazunari’s welfare but you can trust me…If not because I love him but because it is in my best interests to keep him safe…” Jun answered watching the man’s face going from curious to surprise to almost humbled. Satoshi gave a cough chewing on the inside of his cheek as he asked
“So I should just trust you…?”
“No, you shouldn’t” Jun answered shaking his head, he wouldn’t respect the man half as much as he wanted too if he just started to trust him this easily “but you could spend time in our home and judge for yourself…Two weeks…Give us two weeks that you may judge for yourself…”
“…I…This is beyond the scope of my understanding…And I would say that this is all a trick on my mind had I not seen it all those years ago...The people in the water…The beautiful woman…” Satoshi sighed and Jun smiled feeling his resistance crumble before he heard the words “…Fine I will try for two weeks…”
