krystalkatzficz“…And after that…?” Sachiko asked yet again as she came sit beside him and rest on head on his shoulder while putting a tub of ice cream down in between them. It had been a week since the baseball game and Jun’s accidental confession and it had been a week since he had seen Jun. Currently Nino was sprawled out on the floor in front a game controller on his knee wondering whether his non-date with Jun could be called a success or not. Judging from all evidence it was defiantly a not.
“He sort of drained his drink and then muttered something about needing to buy some new headphones and then ran off before I could stop him” Nino sighed taking the spoon she offered and tucked into the ice cream “I wasn’t expecting him to hang around too long after that to be honest…I didn’t expect it to last this long....”
“No I wouldn’t imagine it either…It was a pretty big thing that he admitted too…” Sachiko murmured licking the spoon with a distant expression in her eyes “…You know Moriko-chan told me that…”
“Who’s Moriko-chan?” Nino asked with confusion looking at Sachiko his mouth full of ice cream until it became too cold and he swallowed quickly
“…Jun’s girlfriend…” Sachiko answered looking at him with a ‘duh’ kind of expression on her face. Nino blinked looking honestly surprised by that and he gave a hum
“I thought her name was Pixie…”
“Only you call her Pixie and she likes it so she doesn’t contradict you…”
“Moriko doesn’t even sound close to Pixie…”
“I know it doesn’t…”
“So why did I think her name was Pixie?” Nino hummed sucking distractedly on the spoon while staring at the poster that was on the door.
“Because you’re weird…” Sachiko answered with a laugh and a shrug “And because when you first heard her name you laughed and said she looks like a pixie from the forest…And because you’re a predictable guy and was only checking out the guy that you were interested in…Anyway Moriko-chan told me that she was glad that you were trying to be Jun’s friend…Apparently he always stayed away from guys when he was at school…”
“…Huh…I wonder why?” Nino sighed thinking about it. At school he hadn’t really had many friends though the ones that he had had, had stayed with him throughout everything. They had all been guys; the Game Club which was mostly just a bunch of Otaku’s who stayed in the basement level of the school during breaks and wouldn’t have cared if he had shown up in a tutu as long as he could talk about games. Even when he had been going through ‘The bout of unpleasantness as he would forever call it those guys had stood by him even if he wasn’t really sure that they knew what was happening outside of their pixelated worlds.
“Well when you think about it…It makes sense” Sachiko murmured “We both really didn’t have the easiest of lives back in High School…You remember how it was with all the thoughts going through your head…I can honestly say that I would have rather been away from the girls sometimes…Not because I was looking at them but because I would have had a lot longer to sort out my head…”
“I guess that makes sense…I’ve always been kind of…Blasé about it…even if there was a time that I did want nothing more than to be normal…” Nino gave a sigh and then rested back against his neck looking up at the ceiling. “I just forget that it isn’t better now…Even we’re still hiding…”
“I know…Do you want to go to the club tonight? Even if they’re not Jun…”
“Why don’t we ask Pixie…If she knows where he is?”
“Nino, maybe you should give him a break for tonight? I want to hang out with my friend for a while…If he’s still not here tomorrow I promise that we’ll do something…”
“…As always you’re right…But I’m sorry baby…I don’t feel like going out…” Nino sighed closing his eyes flinching when a smack landed on his cheek. His eyes flew open and he glared at his friend while rubbing his cheek. “What the hell?”
“I have helped you in any way that you’ve asked, Nino…I gave up my ticket, I let you borrow my clothes, I’ve watched you sit and mope around…But now I want to spend one night with you and you blow me off…”
“I would never blow you off…We tried that…” Nino joked with a mock grimace which he stopped when Sachiko shot him a glare.
“Stop being a pretentious sod for a little minute and actually be the Nino that I tried to fall in love with?” Sachiko sighed growling angrily and Nino felt guilty wondering why his chasing a guy would affect her so much but then he realised that they already hadn’t been spending as much time together as they normally did and it had only been a two weeks since he had started plan ‘Get Jun to date him’ and from here on out their time together could get a whole lot less. That was if Jun decided not to change colleges.
“You know you’re not going to lose me as a friend right? You’ll always be the only girl I’ll ever be crazy about… Remember I even have your name tattooed on my bum…That’s going to be a real nice surprise for him ne?” Nino joked remembering the holiday they had took to England with Sachiko’s parents. They’d been 18 in a foreign country and the tattoos had been a reminder that they were friends for ever, admittedly they had also been a drunken mistake that they had never got fixed.
“I have yours…That was a really weird stay in England…” Sachiko said with a loud shrieking laugh obviously remembering the same trip “Maybe you’ll have his on your other cheek?”
“Maybe…” Nino murmured softly doubting if he would ever do anything that weird or crazy with anyone but his Sachi “Or maybe that is something that should be kept our thing…”
“Maybe…So if you don’t want to go to the club tonight what do you want to do? And if you say ‘two players mode’ I will ram that controller up your bum so hard that you won’t be able to sit for a week” Sachiko snapped and Nino gave a laugh nudging her leg almost spilling the slightly melted ice cream down her jeans.
“Nah…We can go out if you’d like, Sachi, you’re right sitting around feeling sorry for myself eating ice cream isn’t me…” He said while she wiped her leg with a t-shirt that he guessed was dirty. He stood up and stared at himself in the mirror grimacing at the sight he saw. His hair was a greasy nest on the top of his head and there was a light dusting of stubble on his chin. “I think that I might want a shower first…”
“I was going to suggest as much…” Sachiko said waving a hand in front of her nose which was wrinkled up. Nino stuck out his tongue and hurried into the bathroom.
45 minutes later he was washed and ready to go in one of the outfits Sachiko had made him buy a black pair of jeans and dark purple top with a slogan written in English. To be fair most of the outfits were similar to Sachiko’s but Nino thought they suited him just fine. His hair was brushed into an almost fluffy shine around his now clean shaven face.
“Shall we go?” He said offering his arm to Sachiko who had just stepped out of her bedroom. With a nodded she slipped her arm into place and they headed to the door. Pulling it open they both came to a complete stand still when he saw a troubled looking Jun standing with his fist clenched about to knock on the door. Jun blinked in surprise and then lowered his hand slowly his mouth opening and closing a few times before he took a breath and licked his lips slowly his eyes going from one to the other asking
“Nino…Can we talk?” Jun asked stubbing his toe on the mattered grey carpet and Nino looked at Sachiko who gave a sigh detangling from his arm. Nino shot her a mouthed thank-you and then motioned for Jun to step inside.

lol like you I never had a coming out moment I just started dating a girl in college and then after that fizzled out a guy...It did take me a long time to accept that I was attracted to both genders :-)
